Rooster Update

Just a quick update for those of you waiting on my call with the results of Rooster's blood test. I talked to the nurse at Primary Children's and found out that it will take 3-4 weeks for the results to come back. Apparently, the lab has to watch the way his platelets function over a period of 2-3 weeks and then they will type up the report and send it to Primary. At this time, they are trying to find out if there is a genetic "malfunction" within his platelets, if they don't find a genetic reason for his platelets being so high we will have to do further testing. I know its not much info but it is all we've got right now. We should know more in a few weeks.

What a week! The biggest news at our home is that I quit my job!!! OK that's probably not the best news for Twitch - I'll share his good news later. Yes, I'm excited (I don't think I could handle going back there for another season) but a little stressed. We planned on building a new home this summer and I don't think that will happen until next year but I'm not sure this summer will be a good time to sell anyway so maybe in the long run it will be better. I'm thinking about applying as a sub for the head start program but if anyone hears of something part time or work at home please let me know.

Twitch's good news is that New York is going to the Superbowl! Ok you might have already heard that one or maybe you heard him hooting and hollering after the game - he is so stoked! Needless to say, the Superbowl party will be at our house this year.

I've been so grumpy about the weather lately (I hate the cold weather and not a big fan of the snow) but today we decided to take advantage of the snow and went sledding. We had a blast and the boys were hilarious! Rooster was first to go down the hill and about half way down his shoe flew off then shortly after his other shoe flew off. Tater said he would get them for him and immediately dropped to his butt and went down the hill. We were hollering at Rooster to stay where he was and Tater would get his shoes but he was so far away he couldn't hear us and hoofed it to his shoes. Not only were we laughing but the 4 other families that were there we're laughing with us. One of the families had the blow up sleds and let Rooster and Tater use them to go off the jumps. Tater was absolutely fearless about going off the jumps - he scared me more than once!

Coming back up

Rooster took his snowboard but the snow was too packed and pretty much solid ice so he couldn't use it.

So, I guess that's it for now. More soon.

A New Year - A New Beginning

It's so tempting for me to go back and put what we did last summer, last fall, how our Christmas was etc. but it will be much easier just to go forward - no looking back right.

I've been thinking about setting up a blog for awhile now and after talking to Grandma M tonight decided it would be a good idea. It's hard to be so far away from friends and family and know that I don't do a good job keeping everyone informed about what goes on here but please know we think of you all often and know that we love you.

So... here is my attempt at blogging about us. I will try to make regular posts with pictures but first need to figure out how to do all of this.
